What motivated you to pursue a leadership or management role (in the IT industry)?

Leadership rather found me than I pursued it, I would say. I worked in the IT space because I really enjoyed being able to apply technology in everyday ways. The further I got into my career, the more my excitement about trying new things and passion for helping others drew me to leadership roles.

In what ways do you believe your perspective as a woman has contributed to your leadership style or approach?

A spirit of nurturing is often associated with being a woman. While I know many men who have this capacity in spades, I believe that having an interest in nurturing the development of others is a key component of what others need from a leader.

What advice would you give to young women aiming for a leadership position in the IT sector?

Spend time on yourself. Get to know as much about who you are, what you believe, and how you can best support others as possible. This will make it much easier and more natural for you to pursue leadership roles.
