At OTRS Group we mainly work from home office. How do you still manage to maintain a team feeling?

We use internal chat extensively and do voice or video calls as well. Active communication, the art of listening, being objective (and rational), and genuine trust would be the key components. Indeed, it cannot be an overnight team feeling, but understanding each member’s working style over time keeps the team cohesive.

How does a typical working day look like for you?

Typically, I start with a hearty breakfast to fuel my tank. Most mornings are in-person meetings, while screen-bound tasks, including overseas calls with our customers, happen in the afternoons with multi-time zones overlapping. Thanks to the system, I can plan my day accordingly using automated reminders, dashboard updates and calendars – it has transformed my work life.

Can you tell us three qualities one should have when joining OTRS Group?

Hard to keep to three – let’s start with having a growth mindset, being agile and flexible, and practising respect and integrity.
