When did you join OTRS Group, and why did you choose us?

I’ve joined the company in August 2020. It was directly after finishing my Examination as a Computer Science Expert. As you can imagine I got a lot of requests during that time, but OTRS Group was one of the few Companies that wrote an individual message (no copy & paste stuff) and after the first calls, it was a very chilled, friendly nice atmosphere. In addition, they were very interested in my motivations and the things I want to do, so I had the feeling that the company wants me to do the things I want most, so I decided to work for OTRS Group. But of course, the company car and other benefits were a good argument too. 🙂

Why did you become a Consultant, and what is special about this job for you?

The idea to share my knowledge, share my thoughts, and help the customer to find the perfect solution was always very fascinating. Brainstorming together to create solutions is still one of my favorite things.

At OTRS Group, we mainly work from home office, how do you still manage to maintain a team feeling?

Every single colleague in the department is just so nice and funny that it feels like a big friend group that works together on projects. Having the possibility to have little events together like mountain biking together or being in a big house for a week and working together builds a bigger team feeling for me than meeting every day in an office. And of course, I get help anytime from everyone when I need it.

How does a typical working day look like for you?

Most of the time I have customer appointments, so I consult them from 9 to 5. To be well prepared I open my Mac 30 minutes before each appointment to get an idea of how the company works with OTRS. But in between the workshop, it’s different each time. Every workshop is different, every need is different, so each time you have a new challenge which is just awesome. But as you can maybe imagine not every issue needs 8 hours, sometimes you have projects over days, and sometimes you’re finished 2 hours earlier ;).
